My name is Lyle Arnold and I am a Podiatrist, and I have a Batchelor of Science Degree in Podiatry from Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh . I qualified as a State Registered Chiropodist from Glasgow in 1973. In 1982, after 9 years in the NHS I was appointed as Chief of Chiropody Services for Hastings Health Authority, in 1983 I took my Diploma in Podiatric Medicine and qualified in the use of local anaesthetics. After a further 4 years I left the NHS to take up private practice as the first Podiatry Consultant at any private hospital in the UK, this was at The Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury. During my 11 year sojourn there I was also approached by The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews to become their Podiatrist in residence at The Open Championships with a remit to treat the world’s top professional golfers participating in the tournaments, this I did between 1993-2003.
In 2003, I started the Wholistic Works Clinic in Lyminge where it is possible to see a variety of practitioners who specialise in professions as varied as Osteopathy and Complementary Therapies. It is my belief that all patients should be treated holistically and that we should be treating the person not a set of random symptoms. This approach leads to not only a more accurate diagnosis, but also a much better patient compliance and therefore recovery rate. My professional collaboration with Osteopaths Adam and Katherine Price has led to our ability to diagnose bio-mechanical problems which cause problems within the musculo-skeletal structure especially leading to long termdisabilities such as osteo-arthritic changes in the knees, hips and lower back and treat them with corrective orthotic insoles and osteopathic technique
